2002 年、新宿区に生まれる。2021 年ごろから、家庭用編み機による服作りをスタート。その後、ニットデザイナーである丹治基浩のもとでテキスタイルを学び、現在の“YUSUKE KIKUTA” を設立する。デザイナー自身が幼少期に発達障害の診断を受けており、自身の感じていた疎外感や内省からインスピレーションを受け、プログラミングスキルを活かした先端テクノロジーと服作りの融合をもとに、コレクションを展開。制作活動以外にも、発達障害当事者として、高校や大学などの教育機関での講演会や、学会での登壇も行っている。

Born in Shinjuku in 2002, Yusuke Kikuta started making clothes using a home knitting machine around 2021. After studying textiles under knit designer Motohiro Tanji, he established the current brand “YUSUKE KIKUTA.” Diagnosed with a developmental disorder during childhood, Kikuta draws inspiration from his feelings of alienation and introspection. He combines advanced technology with his programming skills to create his collections. Beyond his creative work, he also speaks at educational institutions, and presents at academic conferences as a person with a developmental disorder.
